I am super, supra excited to meet Felicia and Seth’s little girl!

I have been photographing Felicia for a few years now, so I was so very honoured when she asked me to document her pregnancy and growing family! Here are some of my favourite shots from our 27 week shoot!

Baked Sun Flower Root Crispy Crepe with Steelhead Roe Shigoku Oyster with Sorrel Kale Toast with Black Truffle and Rye Wild Berries and Grasses Summer Cabbage with Red Currant and Cori Spot Prawns with Kohlrabi and Seaweed Nettles Farm peas Jeremy's Kin with mustard greens and see

I must admit that I was so blown away by the presentation of these dishes I almost forgot to eat some of them! But I did, and they are as, if not more so delicious than their appearance.

I have so many more pictures. Dinner at The Willows Inn, was amazing! I couldn’t even begin to choose a favourite dish. I will just have to go back again to make that decision!

I have been thinking that I would like to do more Cheeky Lady shoots. So I am opening a few extra time slots this summer just for those!

I really love how when I start a Cheeky Lady shoot the Lady is always very shy, doesn’t know what to do, and thinks that she is not photogenic. Yet time after time, by the end of the shoot she is posing like a super model, and feels like a million bucks.

Summer is here; lets hit a beach, go into the forest, get to a snazzy hotel room, or  chill at your home-digs!

Are you going to be a Cheeky Lady?

Little Cheeky Lady :: 1/2hour, unlimited outfit changes. 10-15 final images.

Cheeky Lady :: 1-1.5 hours, unlimited outfit changes. 25-40 final images.

Call to discuss pricing and payment plans.

It was such a pleasure to photograph Vanessa and Matt’s engagement session.  The morning teased us with blue skies, and then had us all fretting when thunder, lightning and torrential downpours started an hour before we were to meet!

But as always the weather broke, and cooperated with us. So with no rain, and a little Boundary Bay Brew in their bellies we hit the streets and had a blast!

Vanessa & Matt, you guys were a hoot to hang out with. I am so touched by the love between you two. I cannot wait for your wedding!!!

Liala spent the weekend with her Auntie Danielle.

I got a call on Saturday night asking if Danielle could dye Liala’s hair blue. I shrugged and replied, “It’s not like she is going to be looking for a job anytime soon.”

So voila, Liala with blue hair! We are thinking of adding a few purple or pink streaks! She loves it.

Jessica’s favorites

This year has held a lot of changes for me, personal and professional. I’ve learned to really live, and have had a lot of fun new adventures. From acting in a few local projects, to watching my children learn new skills, and see their personalities strengthen and blossom. I re-branded my photography business! So booking season for 2012 is here. I thought I would highlight a few weddings from this past 2011 wedding season, because this was such a good year. I have learned so much and I am pumped to make this year even better. So this first wedding had me so nervous. I am not going to lie. I thought I had botched our first phone consultation, they wanted to change things in my contract, they wanted to forgo the in-person meeting, and I was sure I was not going to get hired for their wedding. But they did hire me. And they ended up being so much fun! Artem is who I interacted with before the wedding, and he was very serious and right to business. But when I showed up to the wedding and Natalia started talking and working her magic on him, he melted and became just as goofy as she was.  I love seeing couples that so in love! Anyways, here are their bridal pictures that were featured on the BAKAN blog recently.

Then there was Casandra and Scott, they had the sweetest waterfall engagement shoot. So of course they had an awesome backyard wedding. Every direction I turned people were laughing and smiling and having a good ol’ time.
Kristina was super cool when I showed up to her wedding with a car full of white and purple balloons, which we used for some fun bridal shots and the backdrop for their photo booth. Oh and this was by far the best photo booth wedding this year! As soon as the MC announced the booth up and running, we were flooded by adults and children a like, dressing up and being super goofy for us!
I joined Josh Durias last minute to photograph Emily and Kyle’s wedding. This couple was so cute and fun, they weathered the last minute photographer change and skillfully navigated rain showers . Oh…and the floral arrangements were so elegant!

Slow shutter speed.

So I have been working on a project… and I really want to share it with everyone. But it isn’t ready. So I cannot. Sigh. So that is why I have been ‘hiding’.

Anyhow I have a few images that are not from my project, so I thought I should share!  The sky’s have been so pretty and clear these last few nights. Naturally I needed to play with some slow shutter speeds! I love these images, when they are blown up super big you can see a bunch of stars that weren’t visible in the moment.

I love the night sky.  When I was a kid I wanted to be an astronaut… I still think about what it would be like to float around in space.

I am itching to shoot… Luckily I have several shoots in the coming weeks! But for now, Liala is being my model. She is really awesome at taking direction. I have been wanting the morose child look, for what ever reason.  Which is hard for a smiley child, but she takes it stride.
